Japanese artist Sebastian Masuda is heading to New York for his first solo exhibit inside the iconic American city.
Entitled Colorful Rebellion – Seventh Nightmare, the exhibit will make its debut at KiangaEllis Projects in Chelsea on February 27 and is expected to run until March 29 of this year. Fans of Sebastian Masuda can expect to be see the bright colors and beautiful imagery they’ve come to associate with the well-known Japanese artist. Masuda uses an incredible variety of objects in order to express deeper meanings. There is a hidden darkness in some of these images: the empty bed and the colorful toy guns mixed in with the more child friendly toys, suggest that there are other elements at play beyond our initial impression.
If you’re lucky enough to be in New York and are fascinated by Japanese culture, then Sebastian Masuda’s exhibit is a must-see.
