This example of seafood tin packaging hails from Spain for the Nixe brand. Designed by Creative Director Marco González of design agency Vibra, the aluminum tins are wrapped in brown kraft paper with simple pencil crayon illustrations for an appealing rustic aesthetic.
The Nixe brand commissioned the project with inspiration from Sailor Jerry tattoos, using imagery from the motif such as lighthouses, Hawaiian flowers, a nautical star and a sailboat. The unique approach to branding for the seafood tin product is designed to surprise consumers who already purchase from the brand, while capturing the attention of a new demographic.
The original approach to seafood tin packaging demonstrates the push for artisan-quality products and the role of packaging in communicating this quality to consumers in the hopes of influencing purchasing decisions.
