Scotch Tape Sculptures

The ‘Scotch Off the Roll’ Contestant Pieces are Breathtaking

This incredible free-falling sculpture is created by Jake Longenecker, the first place winner of the ‘Scotch Off the Roll’ Tape Sculpture Contest 2012. 3M is the company that sponsored the event, which is not much of a surprise, as they are all about innovation and thinking outside the box.

This amazing sculpture is made out of 15 rolls of Scotch packaging tape and the piece is called 'Free Fallin.' Longnecker wanted to portray a paratrooper from the WWII era, free falling into the air. It’s hard to believe that this 3D figurine is made out of just tape because of all of the detail present in the design.

Some of the other contestants who entered the competition also had some amazing scotch tape figurines, such as Abigail Colety’s 'Game Night,' Gavin Mann’s 'The Creation of Adam' and Michelle Noe’s 'Tight Rope Tape Walker.'
