This playground design by Peter Meijer of Sakaramenta is a joyous way to refurbish local communities and provide provisions for underprivileged children by utilizing materials which are already available. The clever managing director of Sakarementa created the children's playground within the grounds of a hospital in Malawi by refurbishing a scrapped ambulance.
The intelligent and socially concious design uses the hallowed out ambulance as bunker and playhouse for children to sit on. The children can also climb up onto the top of the refurbished ambulance truck and slide down into the sand. This playground is great for the children at the hospital and also for patients who find it therapeutic to watch the children play.
