About a year and a half ago, Impala launched in Mozambique and the success of that has prompted the launch of the SABMiller Eagle. "Part of our strategy across Africa is to make high quality beer which is affordable for low-income consumers while simultaneously creating opportunities for smallholder farmers in our markets," writes the Managing Director of SABMiller Africa, Mark Bowman. "The launch of Eagle in Ghana ticks both these boxes."
The company is teamed up with Accra Brewery and the Corporate Affairs Director, Adjoba Kyiamah wrote a blog post on Business Fights Poverty about the launch. It would be interesting to note impact on the economies of illicit alcohol.
