The firm 'Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects' designed a rural getaway that is nestled in heart of the woods. While every child dreams of living in a treehouse, few adults are able to turn that dream into a reality. This couple managed to design a structure that creates the illusion of sleeping in a tree without sacrificing the comforts of home.
The contemporary treehouse is located in a wooded area just outside of Rabun Gap, Georgia. The rural getaway consists of a glass structure that houses the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is partially integrated with the outdoor patio in order to offer an open-air shower. The entire structure is cantilevered over a steel and concrete base, which creates the illusion that the home is floating among the trees.
For those who have always dreamed of sleeping among the trees, the modern treehouse is available for rent through Airbnb.
