Project Runway season seven winner Seth Aaron partnered with Feetz to create a dynamic collection of runway shoes that recently made their debut at a fashion event in Portland, Oregon, called FashionNXT.
FashionNXT serves as a showcase of innovative, creative ideas that integrate cutting-edge technologies presenting a vision for the future of fashion. Aaron's collection paired a series of mod, retro-inspired tops, trousers dresses with two modern 3D-printed shoe styles: the Tokyo Platform and the Osaka Oxford, both of which take inspiration from Japanese fashion.
Although many runway creations—especially those that are created with additive manufacturing—simply offer a conceptual look at what could be, these two 3D-printed shoe styles are fully wearable and may now be ordered from Feetz. As FashionNXT CEO Tito Chowdhury puts it: "So much of what has been done in 3D printed fashion is like art, to be appreciated, but not lived [...] people will wear the shoes, not because of the technology, but because they are fashionable."
