Francesca Sophia explores how everyone has struggled with trying to solve a Rubik's Cube, that '80s piece of nostalgia that still manages to frustrate and annoy even today.
This clever short film featuring the trials and tribulations of a young girl trying to solve a Rubik's Cube and finding a novel solution has been crowned the Critics' Choice Winner of this year's '40 Seconds Straight' competition, which is a collaboration between Raindance Film Festival and Direct Line.
The video, directed by Francesca Sophia and Marley Stuart, was a response to the brief of the competition which was to take complicated situations and make them straightforward, celebrating simplicity and depicting a life without the complications and confusion that most of us are only too familiar with.
