Dairy Queen recently launched a new menu item that puts a creative twist on its iconic Blizzard desserts. With summer just around the corner, the decadent desserts give consumers a delicious new way to enjoy their favorite ice cream flavors.
The new Royal Blizzards are similar to the existing Blizzards in that they consist of soft serve ice cream blended with sweet toppings. There are three varieties to choose from, including Royal New York Cheesecake, Royal Oreo and Royal Rocky Road Brownie. However, what sets the new Blizzards apart is a hidden sauce-filled center located deep within the ice cream. The concept is similar to that of Ben & Jerry's new Core line, which also features hidden pockets of delicious toppings.
To promote the new line, Dairy Queen has offered to deliver one of its tasty treats to Queen Elizabeth II as a special 90th birthday surprise.
