Elevated Rotating Homes

This Rotating Houses Move Horizontally to Provide All-Encompassing Views

The only way in which this unusual rotating house cannot move is up and down.

Designed by Alex Schweder and Ward Shelley, the home was inhabited by the creators for five days as part of a performance piece. It is on display at the 'OMI International Arts Center' in Ghent, New York and can rotate 360 degrees on top of a single concrete column that keeps it upright. The home can also tilt from side to side -- and all of its movements are based on the inhabitants' movements. The unique structure is a livable space with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout.

This unique rotating house proves the diversity that the intersection of tech and architecture can bring to life and offers all-encompassing views of its surrounding landscape.
