The Trylletromler Pavilion is an installation currently sitting on the grounds of Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen, Denmark. The mesmerizing installation was created by Dutch design firm FABRIC and was inspired by the zoetrope, a 19th century photographic device.
Made out of three thousand pieces of Nordic timber, the Trylletromler Pavilion is an homage to the spatial expression of the pavilion form that plays with the concept of inside and outside by flip-flopping between the two.
The dizzying public sculpture takes the form of a freestanding fence, which weaves in and out, creating irregular patterns that form ten perfect circles. The design also incorporates the personality of the surrounding gardens, reacting to the statues, rose garden and more with openings in the fence.
