In order to promote the annual Rocking The Daisies Music and Lifestyle Festival, Native, an agency based in South Africa, planted real daisies. But these daisies did more than sit and look pretty. When touched in tangent with holding a metal railing, the potted plants played music, hence becoming a literal interpretation of Rocking The Daisies.
Separated into separate bunches, each section played different sounds such as 'organ,' 'drums' and 'bass.' Thus people can play and mix songs of various genres by touching the different daisies. As written on PSFK, "Creativity Online reports that the track samples, produced by Gerdus Oostuizen, ranged from the electro to rock genres."
Essentially, the Rocking The Daisies installation creates a fun and interactive experience for the visitors, thus enhancing the event on the whole.
