Ride-share service Uber has teamed up with non-profit organization MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) in an effort to encourage road safety this Superbowl Sunday.
Users who take a trip in between the hours of 3pm and 12am that day will be able to use the promotional code 'THINKANDRIDE.' A dollar of their ride cost will then be donated to MADD. Recently, Uber revealed that the introduction of its service decreased the number of DUI arrests in the Seattle area by a ten percent margin. Within the same report, the company notes that California has seen a 6.5% decrease of alcohol-related accidents by drivers who are 30 and under.
Dedicated to stopping drinking and driving, the Uber team is raising awareness with one of the most alcohol-fueled sporting events in the world.
