The Amazon Ring smart home section kicks off with more features at an additional charge beginning March 29th. After this date, there will be a charge for the Ring Protect plan to use both the Home and Away modes for the brand's video doorbells and cameras.
The new feature allows users to switch between Live View and recording on and off through the Ring app to control when they are away from home or in the comfort of their homes. When purchasing the system after the aforementioned date, users will need to pay extra to use the paywalled features. They will also need a subscription to arm and disarm the system from the app or an Alexa-enabled device.
