Clothing brands atmos LAB and Avirex collaborated on a new reversible souvenir jacket. Titled the 'SUKA MA-1 Jacket,' the piece is inspired by traditional sukajans (souvenir jackets) worn by American GIs that were stationed in Yokosuka, Japan since World War II. Though drawing from the past, this jacket is an updated, streetwear version of a classic garment.
The base of the jacket is the Avirex MA-1 shell in both black and silver, while atmos LAB added some flare and unique design features. The front of the jacket features two embroidered tigers on either side of the zipper in a traditional Japanese design. The back of the jacket has an embroidered dragon and text that reads 'Japan 1975 Avirex.'
These new jackets are all reversible, with the ability to show the classic exterior or the shiny blue satin lining. With bold designs and extensive attention to detail, this new reversible souvenir jacket will be available online this February.
