The Saturn Armchair with its ‘planetary’ cushion orbited by a ring is one of the pieces from the 1950s that has stood the test of time. While one can occasionally find the originals at fine antiques auction houses, the demand exceeds availability.
The chairs were designed by Geneviève Dangles and Christian Defrance, a married interior design team that opened a studio in 1953 Paris. Their work helped to define the post WWII era of French design.
Because of the chair design’s lasting appeal and renewed interest in owning it, very limited quantities of the orange and green version are being produced and made available through Perimeter Editions.
