The 'Resonet' is an interactive light display that reacts to vibration stimuli. The elegant light is a combination of a net-made chandelier and a responsive device. The name Resonet refers to the fusion of resonance and network.
The installation was erected in the Baitasi Hutong district during this year's Beijing Design Week. The vortex-like net light contains two illuminated rings. The small ring at the top is connected the to hula hoop-sized ring with a series of netting. Using a "network of vibration sensors and LED nodes," the light is able to detect vibrations from people, cars and trees. These vibrations allow the device to emit various patterns and light displays.
While the unique light installation has been an ongoing project since 2007, this year showcases the success of the dedicated team and the undeniable innovation of the product.
