France-based architecture and design firm Ateliers Jean Nouvel constructed a 27 story hotel called Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel in downtown Barcelona, Spain. The 110 meter high tower was created in conjunction with local Spanish architecture studio Ribas & Ribas.
The environmentally aware building takes sustainability to a whole new meaning. With a theme that is set in nature, not only does the exterior wall of the building features windows that are shaped like tree leaves, the interior spaces are also fitted with natural vegetation, including palm trees, plants, bushes and hanging vines that surround the hotel's 357 rooms and floors.
The interior spaces are naturally lit by sunlight flowing in through the window panels, with a rooftop pool, a cocktail lounge and a restaurant that offer expansive views of the metropolis.
