Refrigerator-Reenvisioning Houses

This Japanese Concept Envisions Outdoor Refrigerator Access

A newly released Japanese accommodation concept takes the existing rule book surrounding residential living design and throws it out the window, specifically by envisioning a home design that shifts refrigerator access to the outside.

Devised by Fumie Shibata as part of a collaboration with Yamata Holdings, the appropriately named House With Refrigerator Access From the Outside was released as part of the House Vision Tokyo exhibition, which aims to encourage designers, architects and builders to think about the future of housing.

By shifting refrigerator access outside, this particular concept could make it possible to have people order fresh food deliveries. While this sounds like an audacious and unworkable idea at first, some stepped-up security systems could actually make this idea one to keep in mind for the future.
