Design student Travis Purrington stuns with his redesigned American money series. Purrington is currently enrolled in the School of Design in Switzerland and is known for his clean and futuristic aesthetic.
Travis Purrington's redesigned American money series features a modernized version of the $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills. Instead of famous politicians, the artist's re-imagined bank notes are adorned with architectural monuments, bird's eye landscape views and ambiguous geometries that are synonymous with modern art.
These re-imagined bank notes also feature astronomical imagery and are displayed in a palette of muted pink, purple and blue tones that are reminiscent of Instagram photo filters. The currency-themed art pieces are a fresh and futuristic translation of America's money and how it may change moving forward.
