GF Swim is the first swimwear collection from Girlfriend Collective and it shares recycled fishnet swimwear styles. Made with recycled fishing nets and post-industrial waste, styles like the Hermosa Bikini Top, the Oasis One Piece and the square-neck Aqua Clemente One Piece help to make the most of materials that are already in circulation. Additionally, the designs help to support Healthy Seas.
The swimwear designs are made with ECONYL, a soft, high-performance fabric that helps to keep the oceans free of wasteful materials that could be put towards other applications. The brand is transparent about its sustainable swimwear, stating in a press release, "The bad news is there isn’t a good swimwear fabric out there that won’t shed microfibers. We know because we looked."
Each product page on the brand's site shares the impact of the garment, including oil conserved, CO2 prevented and energy saved.
