Recycled Button Portraits

Artist Lisa Kokin Makes Intricate Pieces From Old, Forgotten Accessories

These intricate recycled button portraits are the creations of artist Lisa Kokin. Kokin has taken the concept of 'reduce, reuse, recycle' to a whole new level.

Created much like a mosaic, these recycled button portraits look like pixelated art from a distance. Only when viewed at close range do you finally see the individuality of each piece in the portrait. Lisa Kokin will be presenting her recycled button portraits at a Paris button-centric art exhibition in June 2010.
