Fleeting Foliage-Shaped Photography

The Raw Color Temporary Tree Project Draws Attention to Trees

Originally displayed during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, the Raw Color Temporary Tree project looks at the easy displacement of trees.

In the Netherlands, trees generally are not permitted to fully mature and are often cut down before they reach one tenth of their life expectancy. In an effort to draw attention to the ways in which people treat trees, a phenomena that is applicable globally, Raw Color chose to demonstrate just how temporary these plants really are. Using materials such as balloons, sheer cloth, twigs, string and flower petals, people were photographed throwing the items in the air, creating a tree-shaped aura around them.

The images of the Raw Color Temporary Tree project show how fleeting the natural environment can be and emphasized the importance of saving trees.
