Elon Musk stated through Twitter that Tesla and SpaceX will mobilize to begin producing ventilators in response to COVID-19. Musk’s decision to begin producing ventilators comes from a direct request form the Mayor New York City, Bill de Blasio. The Tesla CEO also indicated that he does not personally believe the ventilators will be required, however, they will be working towards producing units anyway, which may be only a precautionary measure.
