Vlisco is a premium textile brand known for its elegant and eye-catching creations. The 170-year-old company's most memorable works were recently on display at an exhibit celebrating its history and vibrant future.
Located in the southern Netherlands, Museum Helmond was the site of the exhibit which took visitors on a historic tour of Vlisco's evolution, while spotlighting the brand's most famed fabric prints. The immersive exhibit paired floor-to-ceiling fabric sculptures with fashion design offerings, along with framed wall art that tied each vignette together.
Additionally, the presentation spotlighted the work of five African designers who worked with Vlisco fabrics to create signature art for the event. Alongside the five artists, African artisan and fabric seller Nana Benz was also honored in a film installation within the exhibit.
