Preciate's Self-Serve Kiosks are Activated with a Selfie

Israeli startup Preciate has created self-serve kiosks that rely on facial recognition technology for use within restaurants, business centers, and other locations.

As Fast Casual reports, the company has plans to bring its kiosks to restaurants throughout Tel Aviv, and eventually introduce them to the American quick serve restaurant industry. In order to activate the self-serve system, customers need to sign up for the service using a selfie of themselves. Once they've done so, sales associates, restaurant staff, and other employees will have access to their data in relation to the store they're visiting—meaning they can see how often they've visited, what they've ordered or purchased in the past, and any other personal information they've entered into the associated app. Users can also to choose to enter payment details through the app so that they can complete mobile transactions.
