Porte des Savoirs is an installation by EPFL ECAL Lab and ALICE Studio, located in a more rural entrance to a subway station in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The students, artists and architects wanted to come up with an installation that challenged people's notions of what could be done in rural areas, which is why they chose a quieter subway stop. People would still be moving through, but not in such a high volume as other areas of transport. Using LED technology along with other methods, the hallway is transformed into a digital hub, with information flowing through the walls and floors of the area. The entire experience is a surreal digital installation that visitors are sure to remember. Photo Credits: designboom, epfl-ecal-lab.ch
