Frustrated by the difficulty of creating customized light programming with LED lights, the Blinkiverse team created BlinkyTape, a flexible and portable LED strip with 60 pixels embedded within.
The strip is integrated with BlinkyBoard, a light processor that can be programmed through USB for easy and manageable usage. Flexible and weatherproof silicone makes up the exterior of BlinkyTape so it is practical for use outdoors and can be bent and twisted to suit almost any purpose including massive-scale light painting.
Blinkiverse has already used this portable LED strip design for several awesome projects including adding lighting effects to DJ booths, creating a giant Nyan Cat design and a 16-foot diameter dome covered in BlinkyTape strips entitled the DomeStar. Incredibly popular, this Kickstarter project was fully funded in under 48 hours.
