Ralph Lauren will soon be launching its cutting-edge Polo Tech shirt, that will monitor the biological and physiological information of its wearer. The shirt, which was developed in partnership with tech clothing manufacturer OMsignal, will be tested at the upcoming US Open.
The shirt has sensors knitted into it; these sensors use Bluetooth to relay the information to a cloud where algorithms are applied. Data can then be accessed by the user through the companion mobile app.
The Polo Tech features an electrocardiogram, breathing sensor, gyroscope and accelerometer. It measures stress levels, energy output, heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, breathing depth, intensity of activity, steps and calories burned.
The tight-fitting shirt also looks fantastic, with a yellow Ralph Lauren horse logo standing out sharply against a black background.
