This Pokémon Day will mark the 25th anniversary of Pokémon first appearing on the Nintendo Gameboy in 1996 and Pokémon is celebrating with a virtual Pokémon Day concert starring Post Malone. The event can be viewed for free on the Pokémon YouTube channel, Twitch channel and the 25th anniversary website.
To mark the special occasion, the beloved animated franchise is teaming up with Universal Music Group to share a virtual experience and kick off the year-long P25 Music programme. In collaboration with UMG artists, new songs, pop culture moments and styles will be reinterpreted through the lens of Pokémon. Before the concert on February 27th, February Pokémon TV will be airing a selection of music-themed episodes and select games will have a special Pikachu character that knows how to "sing."
