The Pocket app, which allows users the ability to save articles and videos for later viewing, has recently released a redesign which allows people to listen to the items they save. This new listen feature is powered with Amazon's Polly text-to-speech service and essentially turns saved articles into "a personal podcast that you curate on your own," according to CEO Nate Weiner. The saved articles will be read off in the order they are saved and will play automatically after the previous one is finished.
The redesign of the Pocket app also featured the first major visual change since 2012. The new design of the app lowers the information density appearing on screen and favors more white space and larger labels. This new visual focus makes the app easier to understand and creates a more relaxing reading experience.
