Plastic Books

UFSCAR and Vitopel Brasil Team Up to Create Recyclable Synthetic Paper

Here I was thinking that Canada was amazing for adopting Australia's plastic money, and now it seems that Brazil is topping it off by producing plastic books. Made from 100% recycled plastic, PSFK says that this novel process is similar to the production of bioriented polypropylene film, which is used in labels and snack packages.

Created by UFSCAR (São Carlos’ Federal University) and Vitopel Brasil, these plastic books will feature synthetic paper that requires 20% less ink. Waterproof and tear-proof, it will simply feel like regular paper that has been coated.
