Local Music Baseball Shows

Pittsburgh Pirates In-Game Entertainment Fosters Up-And-Comers

Pittsburgh Pirates In-Game Entertainment is an initiative on behalf of the baseball team to foster its local music scene by recruiting local bands to provide entertainment during their home games.

Started back in April, the 'Aviation Blondes' were the first of the Pittsburgh Pirates In-Game Entertainment initiative. Eric Wolff manages this project and picks every patriotic song and local band himself.

Implications - I think that the idea of showcasing local talent where there is already a crowd of people is an awesome idea. Not only could this benefit baseball games, but it would also benefit the musicians who want to make it big. This is a great chance for musical groups to gain a larger fan base.
