Blizzard works in collaboration with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to launch a special charity skin for Overwatch: PINK MERCY. The skin was sold online and the proceeds went directly to BCRF and their work of finding the cure to breast cancer. In addition to supporting the cause by buying the skin, there is also a selection of limited edition goods including the Pink Mercy charity shirts, series of Pink Mercy sprays, player icons, and more.
The project was comprised of six different types -- be a hero, wear for awareness, rep for research, championing the cause, spread awareness, where your donation is going. Be a hero allows players to learn about the Pink Mercy skin with all profits going towards charity, wear for awareness highlights the t-shirt, rep for research unravels themed Twitch drops, championing the cause opens up about the charity streams, spreading awareness highlights the emotes, and lastly, players can learn more about BCRF.
