Cloud 9 is a Philadelphia urban farming initiative transforming rooftops into bountiful produce gardens. The non-profit organization was launched in 2012 and aims to continue expanding across the city in order to make gardening accessible and safe for members of the community.

Cloud 9 hopes to simultaneously improve the health and environment of Philadelphia and create room for farming in urban spaces. In order to make this happen, founder Rania Campbell-Cobb must seek out building owners who are interested in experimenting with the methods, while also keeping in mind the buildings must be structurally sound and able to bare the weight of the deep soil.
