The Persil packaging has been revamped by Henkel to be more focused on sustainability in a bid to reduce the need for virgin materials. The packaging is achieved using 50% recycled polypropylene for the exterior container, which has been obtained from discarded household plastics to increase the life of the discards material. The packaging is produced by Greiner Packaging and is further enhanced with a cardboard wrap that can be easily removed from the plastic container for separate recycling.
International Project Manager at Greiner Packaging Andreas Auinger spoke on the new Persil packaging saying, "By using rPP, we’re taking another important step forward in terms of the sustainability of our cardboard-plastic packaging materials. Thanks to our innovative two-layer process, we’re meeting the highest standards of sustainability while also making sure that the packaging’s attractive appearance is retained."
