The Peepo Explorer Helps Guide the Blind Through the Urban Jungle

The Peepo Explorer is a conceptual gadget designed to help the blind navigate safely in crowded public places. Created by designer Steffan Williams in conjunction with Peepo, this device uses WiFi and RFID to help the blind plot a safe route through places such as the mall.

The Peepo Explorer picks up WiFi or RFID beacons placed on points of interest and feeds them to the user. The user can then select which places to visit and the Peepo Explorer plots out the safest and most convenient route. The device feeds instructions to the user through an included USB headset and also comes with a number pad to let users make trips audible on the fly.
