Margrethe Odgaard is a Danish textile designer who recently created a series of rugs entitled 'Pebble Rugs' for design label Muuto made to look like pebbles beneath the feet. The rugs are constructed using woven techniques with jute yarn materials, wool, and a vegetable fiber.
The Pebble Rugs are comprised of a central cross of soft wool loops that give off the feeling of walking on a softly pebbled beach. The inspiration behind the collection is the sensuous vibe of a pebbled beach with its textile foundation welcoming barefooted walks.
The woolen loops give any space a new perspective, imitating sprouts from a bed of moss connected through the woven texture. The Pebble Rugs are available in two sizes and four varying colorways -- pale rose, burnt orange, dark grey, and light grey.
