Patch of Sky is a project by a group of artists featuring lamps based on the outside weather. Instead of simply turning the lights on and off, users get a sense of whether or not it's hot or cold, rainy or sunning outside.
The lights are connected to the Internet, so they are able to track what is happening outside in terms of weather, and this is updated four times daily. For anyone who is stuck inside doing work in an apartment without much access to the outside, having a light such as this will help make the day a little less depressing. People could even set the device to other destinations (perhaps a spot where friends or loved ones are located), to help them feel closer to these individuals.
