This home was designed with passive cooling techniques to counter the heat from the ample sunlight that comes through its windows.
Designed by Taller Estilo Arquitectura, this home in Merida, Mexico combines natural aesthetics with energy efficient home design. The house features floor to ceiling windows, a rustic wooden kitchen, a small pool and even a loft space that functions as a living room. Muted colors along with bright pops of green plant life give this home a serene and natural aesthetic. In order to prevent excessive heating from the sunlight that streams through the windows, the architects designed an 'air chimney' to counter these effects and cool the home.
By incorporating passive cooling features in the design of this home, the architects ensured that the space was beautiful and modern while maintaining energy and cost efficiency.
