"For the past 2 years Park Hotel Tokyo has been sponsoring their 'Artist in Hotel' project, an initiative that invites artists to stay in one of their rooms and transform it into their very own masterpiece."
This initiative gives its artists complete freedom, allowing them to paint, sculpt and alter their chosen room until it is fully transformed and reflective of their personal aesthetic.
So far, 7 out of a planned 31 rooms have been completed while the remainder is set to be transformed by 2016. The Park Hotel Tokyo's artist-designed suites have been compared to "mini museums" that boast work by local talents. From vibrantly colored suites to spaces that look to prehistoric art for inspiration, the hotel's dwellings are sure to become a frequent hot-spot for design and art lovers alike.
