Paper-Based Gelato Pints

Gelato Fiasco is Adopting Sustainable Paper Pint Ice Cream Containers

Gelato Fiasco, which previously packaged its frozen dessert products in plastic containers, is now making the switch to paper pint packages—and this change in packaging design is estimated to save almost three million plastic jars in just the next year alone. The pint-sized gelato packaging is made with paperboard that's Sustainable Forestry Initiative certified and boasts a fresh and sophisticated new look from the independently owned gelato brand. The new style can be seen on Gelato Fiasco flavors like Torched Marshmallow S'more and Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp.

Gelato Fiasco co-founder and CEO Joshua Davis is one of the many consumers who is doing their part to personally reduce the waste they produce, which led him to ponder: "If I am trying to reduce my plastic consumption as a single consumer, why not get real and cut out literally millions of plastic pint containers that I have some control over?"
