For those yearning for an azure ocean, crystal beaches and whispering palm trees but are stuck in the city, the PAM chair helps to satisfy a craving. Created by pan-European architecture firm Studioforma, the chair mimics the ribbed pattern of a palm leaf and the pale, dark wood of a palm tree.
Not in fact crafted from a palm tree, the chairs are made from solid walnut. Though the name, PAM, is nearly a homonym for the '"palm" that it resembles, the Studioforma team chose the feminine name because of the chair's "smooth and svelte silhouette." With angled back legs that run flush with the ribbed back support, the chair's forward leaning posture invites consumers to kick back on PAM and imagine themselves relaxing on a beach, drink in hand, the world in their rear view mirror.
