The Oyster #104 cover shoot, starring Charlotte Free, proves that harder and faster isn't always better and stronger. Titled 'Softer, Softest,' the editorial showcases a different, more delicate type of strength.
Photographer Jeff Bark shot Free wearing Chanel SS14 Haute Couture for the editorial, which Oyster describes as "part under-the-sea, part sci-fi Flashdance." Indeed, the glittery, blue-green hue of the editorial conjures an 80s-style mermaid meets Space Odyssey vibe. The team behind the production includes creative director Alice Alexander, fashion editor Megha Kapoor and hair and makeup by Sophie Roberts and Mark Edio.
In the accompanying interview, Free discusses her interests outside of fashion. She says, "I make music. I'm really into alternative medicine and healing, art and biology. The big picture, the flow of the universe, why we are here -- these are all things that interest me."
