Architect Matthew Royce is the mind behind Los Angeles-based design studio M Royce Architecture and he recently designs the Oxford Triangle home for himself and his wife, Farnaz Azmoodeh. When creating the new home, he taps inspiration from southern Californian architecture themes. As a result, there are elements of industrial materials and reflective subterranean pools.
The home is on Oxford Avenue in Venice Beach, sitting on top of a triangular and rounded site. The main dwelling has four levels with the basement included and made with concrete, glass, and raw copper. Royce explains that "Everything above ground was about maximizing the footprint. Below ground is where space mixed with drawing down natural light and ocean breezes."
