DaeWha Kang Design Creates a New Pavilion for OWO Hotel

UK architecture studio DaeWha Kang Design creates a courtyard and pavilion for the OWO hotel, which is in the city's Whitehall location of what was once the previous Old War Office. It was designed by architect Wiliam Young -- the pavilion boasts a circular structure with bar and dining spaces.

It is defined by a glass facade and roof panels made from mirrored stainless steel. Daewha Kang Design explains to Dezeen, "The pavilion is unashamedly contemporary in its styling, but has much of the expressiveness and intricacy that we are accustomed to seeing in heritage architecture." Additionally, the studio explains that the main concept for the pavilion's creation had the goal of bringing forth "the feeling of being inside a Georgia O'Keefe painting."
