To put a fun twist on the concept of an outdoor art gallery, the Louvre Abu Dhabi launched the 'Highway Gallery' project.
The project helps to celebrate UAE Innovation month and remind motorists and passengers alike of the important role that art plays in life.
In the same way that billboards can often be seen along the side of the road, large-scale art pieces have been installed, featuring classic works of art from Vincent van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci and more. Although people must make a trip to the actual art gallery to see the pieces up-close and in person, the Louvre Abu Dhabi created radio transmissions with partnering stations that offer a short description on each piece of art's title, creator, technique and context.
