Open-Air Living Rooms

The National Trust Encourages Visitors to Enjoy the Outdoors

The National Trust has created these open-air living rooms to entice sofa-loving Brits into the great outdoors. The open-air living rooms are made entirely out of natural materials and took over a month to grow. The furniture is comprised of a base of straw bales with a grass blanket.

Each of these open-air living rooms has a sofa and a coffee table for families to gather around. The biggest sofa is at Osterley Park in London, with an eight-meter diameter. The initiative is in response to recent research that revealed Brits spend up to 43 hours a week on the sofa.
