Timber Boat Wine Facilities

These Old Boats Get Remade into an Expansive Wine Facility

Boats are typically very sturdy (Titanic notwithstanding), so when one has an old boat, it’s not a bad idea to find other uses for it. Claudia Turrent and Alejandro D’acosta Arquitectos used this idea and reworked many old boats into a rustic wine facility.

The wine facility is in Mexico and is made almost entirely out of large recycled boats. While the actual buildings are made out of these boats, the interiors are as well. The floors and roofs are also made out of the wood from the boats. It’s hard to pinpoint how the marine culture and proximity to the water and sea breeze affects the wine making process but as long as the wine is good nothing else matters.
