Virtual reality company Oculus Rift has created a game that is unlike any other: a guillotine simulator. Complete with an angry virtual crowd cheering for your death, this new game called ‘Disunion’ simulates an execution. More specifically, it simulates your execution.
Disunion requires the soon-to-be-executed player to kneel with their head and chest over a table. When the game begins, they use their virtual reality goggles to look around at the crowd and wait anxiously until the executioner’s blade finally drops.
Although Disunion is shocking, the real surprise is that it looks like a lot of fun. In the video from Oculus Rift, the users always finishes the simulation with smiles on their faces, cursing their friends for giving them a karate chop to the neck as the simulated blade fell.
